It has been sometime since I have updated this site. I guess that is because there is not much going on. The housing market is killing everything. We have taken the house of the market for now, and have decided to fix up more things around the house. We hope to put the house back on the market sometime in 2009. That is if the market has improved any by then. I am still home schooling the kids. They all have shown great improvement in all subjects! YEAH!!! Well...I will update again if anything changes!

Not Much Going On
We have had several people come and look at the house. Everyone seems to like it, but no one wants to buy it. We have not figured out why yet. I have priced the house down to what the three bedrooms are going for in this area. I am a four bedroom with a den on a lake. So, I know I don't have the house priced too high. Well....eventually it will sell. I was told the average home is on the market for 6 months. It has not been 6 months yet.
Staples has a great sale going on. Alot of 1 cent items. I went there yesterday to get somethings we will be needing for homeschooling. I will start the school year right along when the kids return to school. This way my school year will run the same. I don't have to do it it that way. We are just choseing to do so. I do need to do some research today and start getting things ready. I will make that my project this week.
Well...if anything happens with making our dream a reality I will post.
Have a great day everyone!

Home/Boat Schooling
Today I dis-enrolled the kids from school. We have decided that we are going to start homeschooling. This way we get the kid adjusted to one new thing at a time. We didn't think it would be a great idea to move on a boat and start homeschooling all at once. I have been doing alot of research and have spoken to several "government type" people about the best way to go about things. I was told to choce a county and register as a homeschool there. Then when we start travling over seas to deal with that bridge when I come with it.
The kids are looking forward to this new adventure of homeschooling. They all want to learn things other then the FCAT exam they take every year. We all have been doing research, including kids, on what they want to learn this up coming school year. It seems outer space is a major area of intrest with all of them. Including our youngest who is 6.
My husband and I both have different areas that we are good in. My husband Al graduated from the Naval Academy. His strengths are in Math and Science. He also has a love for History. My strengths are in the arts, reading, writing, art, music (I play the Flute), Greek history, and Psychology. I believe betweenhe two of us the kids will learn alot more then what they were on school.
We are all looking forward to this new life style.

Dropping Price on House
As everyone knows the market for sellers in really, REALLY, BAD! I wish we could of sold the house a year ago and have been done with it. But as luck would have it we had to wait until this year. I have been told that the average house is on the market at least six months. six months for us will be in August. We have decided to drop the price on the house even more....we have dropped by $9,000. I love my home. I put alot of work into it. Of course when we worked on the house we didn't know that we wanted to sail around the world. I not only have a gourmet kitchen, but it is state of the art. I have a glass top stove with a build in Microwave draw. It is by Sharp. We were planning on staying in the house. We were even tossing around the idea of adding on. We are on a small fishing lake and there is a playground one block away with tennis court, basketball courts, etc...
So, we are hopping to sell the house before the summer ends. We would like to move on to our next chapter in our lives.

The Starting Line
Wow, Life can really change from one day to the next. Everything started back in 2005. I met a wonderful man in the oddest places. In the mens room at a construction site. I was a project manager and he was with a company that my boss had hired to locate some underground utilities. I was not suppose to be at that site on a Tuesday in January of 2005. My boss was going to go out there; but as fate had planned my boss called me the night before and informed me that he had to attending a meeting in the morning, so I needed to be at the site by 8 am. Of course I was running late and didn't get there until 8:30 am. (Not sure my boss ever new this fact.) I was heading to the front of the building when a young lady with the underground locating company came out. She informed me that everyone was in the mens room. They needed to pull the tiolet to use a camera to find what they were looking for. I headed for the mens the room. That is where I met a man I knew who was the one. We talked while he worked in and out of the building. We then went out two days later, and two days after that we were engaged. I moved in with him that night. We were married in April of 2005. My four kids came to live with us in July of 2005 when we moved to a four bedroom house. (The kids had stayed with their father) Then in November of 2005 we bought on impluse a 25ft. Catalina Sailboat from a boating show. My husband had sailed when he was at the Navy Academy and I had never sailed before. Once we got going and I took a class...I was HOOKED. Then June of 2006 we started tossing around the idea of sailing around the world. We have discussed this to great lengths; not just among ourselves but with the children and a few family members. Then January of this year (2007) We decided that we wanted to sell our house and move onto a sailboat. This way we could but our money towards a boat instead of a house. We all know what B.O.A.T stand for....Break Out Another Thousand...LOL In our case it will be several thousands. SO, our house is on the market in the great Orlando area. We even have our 25ft sailboat listed for sale. We have also decided to start homeschooling the kids. They will not be returning to school when it starts back up in August. We will be living on the boat for about 4 years before my husband retires and we set sail, but that does not seem to matter to anyone. Everyone is very excited about the new life style we are taking on.
I will be using this blog to write about the process, frustration, and everything else we have to go through to get our dream to become a reality.
